Assistant Principal's Welcome Letter
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome all returning students and families. To new students and families, WELCOME TO THE G.A.I. FAMILY! This is my sixteenth year working at G.A.I. and can honestly say, I wake up everyday thinking, “I love what I do”. For those of you that don’t know, my two daughters are G.A.I. alumnae. Never did they give me a difficult time, preparing for school in the mornings, as they also loved this school. I hope each and everyone one of you has that experience here. We are proud of what we have accomplished and are very proud of our outstanding students. Even though G.A.I is under a new administration, we are eagerly looking forward to the new beginning and will continue to strive only the best for everyone. Your children will feel safe, remain positive, and reach their full potential.
Speaking of new beginnings, we welcome our new teachers, Ms. Foteini, Ms. Tabussum, Ms. Plevritis, and Ms. Vlahopoulos. They have already demonstrated dedication, collaboration, and creativeness, to name the least. As for our returning teachers, we are so grateful to have them again. As educators, they are approachable, respectful, and supportive, as well as committed in leading their students to success. As Nobel Prize Laureate Malala Yousafzai, once quoted, “Let us remember: one book, one pen, one child, and one teacher can change the world.” Our teachers have that passion to change the world, one student at a time. This year, teachers created colorful classrooms to stimulate and maximize productivity. In fact, the hallways are now a beautiful blue to elicit calmness and happiness. We are excited we now offer a free 3K full-day program and have a newly designed playground. From this time forward, we will only continue to improve, such as adding new after school clubs.
We are very lucky to have a fabulous PTO and Special Events Committee who organize amazing activities and events. They are extremely dedicated, open to ideas, and welcome all families to participate and support fundraisers.
Lastly, parents always remember we believe in collaborating with families. We are here for you and your children. We are all stakeholders playing a different and significant role on this team....The G.A.I. team. Through collaboration, our students and school will navigate through this ever changing world.
Thank you for entrusting your children with us. I wish everyone the best school year, especially to the eighth grade class, who will be the future graduating class of 2020. Make this the most memorable year!!!
